Here at iRoof Exteriors, we offer comprehensive roof inspections at no-cost, no obligation. A roof inspection is essential to identify any areas that need repair or replacement and to ensure that the structural integrity of your roof is intact.
iRoof Exteriors uses the latest technology to inspect roofs. We use drones, which present a unique opportunity for getting a clear view of your roof top and allow us to get precise roof measurements. Utilizing drones for roof inspections allows us to reduce cost, difficulty, and danger for our team. They also improve accuracy and consistency. Even the most skilled roof inspectors are subject to human error. With a drone, however, these typical inaccuracies and inconsistencies can be removed.
As part of our roof inspections, you will receive a Full Roof Report that include pictures of your entire roof, pointing out any areas of concern. Many homeowners get their roof inspected when preparing to list their home for sale, and our Full Roof Report is a great tool to pass on to potential buyers. However, even if you are not in the market to sell your home, all roofs eventually wear down over time and are exposed to severe weather. It is important to periodically get your roof evaluated so you are not surprised by any issues that can potentially cause a lot of damage.
When we inspect your roof, you can be sure that all the details will be carefully evaluated. Our roof inspections check for all of the following:
-Missing, broken, or torn shingles
-Worn away shingle granules
-Cracked or missing caulk
-Rusted or missing flashing
-Rotted or torn rubber boots and pipes
-Wood rot or sagging areas
-Cracks in chimney or missing caps
-Gutters that are not securely attached

If our comprehensive roof inspections bring up any issues, or if you notice any damage or a leak in your home, it is important to get your roof repaired fast. Getting your roof repaired in a timely manner prevents any further damage to your home, costing you more money.
Proper roof repairs and proper maintenance can extend the life of your roof. Living in the Midwest, our area experiences frequent severe weather, such as high winds, hail storms, and more than can impose damage to your home’s exterior. iRoof Exteriors can inspect your home and help you decide the right roofing services for your needs.
If your roof is damaged, showing signs of wear and tear, or you simply want to better the exterior of your home aesthetically, iRoof Exteriors is there to help by providing a full roof replacement. iRoof Exteriors specializes in many different types of roofing, including shingles, flat roofing, metal roofing, wood shingles/shake, and more!
Sometimes the damage to your roof can rack up hefty repair costs and become too expensive to continue to fix. In these situations, a full roof replacement becomes more economical as it will last for a long duration of the stay in your home, and it can increase the value of your home should you decide to sell it. An iRoof Exteriors representative can help you decide the best course of action dependent on your situation.
iRoof Exteriors has over 20 years of experience dealing with hail and storm damage. Severe storms can damage the entire exterior of your home, from the roof and siding to windows and skylights. The effects of hail damage can differ due to many factors, such as hail size, wind speed, wind direction, roofing material, roof slope, etc. Hail damage can be cosmetic or functional. Some damage that may just look cosmetic at first may lead to serious complications down the road.
Types of hail damage to a roof:
-Granule loss: When granules are lost and the asphalt coating is exposed to the elements, the shingle ages quicker. One way to check for granule loss is by looking in your gutters or downspouts after a severe storm.
-Shingle cracking: Hail and high winds can cause cracks in your shingles, which can lead to exposure of the underlayment and decking of your roof. Cracked shingles are not effective in protecting your home from the elements.
-Weakened self-seal strip: Hail and high winds can weaken or destroy the seal of your shingles, causing them to blow off and exposing your roof. This is a common cause of leaks.
-Unprotected and/or cracked asphalt coating: An asphalt shingle is protected with an asphalt coating or fiberglass mat on the layer below the granules. Once severe weather cause granule loss, the coating or mat is exposed to the element. The asphalt coating or fiberglass mat may also crack, which may not immediately be seen but can tear more over time as the shingles age.
Depending on the damage, repairing a roof damaged by hail or high winds can be as simple as fixing a small section of shingles, or replacing the full roof. If a storm passes through and you are left with any leaks, we also offer emergency tarp services that will keep you dry until we can quickly perform any repairs or replacement. Please do not go up on the roof yourself. A damaged roof is a dangerous environment and you should call us right away at (815) 312-7664 and let an iRoof Exteriors representative be the first to check it out.
Storm Damage and Insurance
If you think you have storm damage, you need to contact an iRoof Exteriors representative immediately to document the damage. Next, you will need to file a claim with your insurance company. Every insurance provider has different criteria of what qualifies as storm damage. Your insurance will send out an adjuster to inspect the storm damage and document the damaged areas. Your iRoof Exteriors representative will meet with the adjuster as an advocate for you, the homeowner, and make sure that all damage is documented and nothing is missed.
Many homeowners get weary of filing a claim for storm damage because they worry their rates will go up. However, most insurance companies raise their rates based off a zip code. If there has been a recent storm that has caused damage to a significant number of homes, the whole zip code will most likely see an increase on rates the following year, regardless of whether they filed a claim or not.
RCV Policy? ACV Policy? Depreciation? Insurance can get confusing, but lucky for you iRoof Exteriors has over 20 years experience with home insurance policies. Give iRoof Exteriors a call today and we will take care of everything regarding the insurance company so you don’t have to.
iRoof Exteriors not only deals with roofs, we also deal with siding replacement and installation. We install many different types of siding, including but not limited to Vinyl Siding, Cedar Siding, LP SmartSide Siding, and Board and Batten. Our most popular is Vinyl Siding.
Vinyl Siding stands out for the excellent value and durability it provides. Vinyl siding is offered it many different colors and styles. It can even imitate the look of wood. Some of the benefits of vinyl siding are that no painting is required, it is inexpensive, and it is low maintenance.
iRoof Exteriors also offers seamless gutters, which are created and installed on-site and installed in one continuous run. Seamless gutters made by rolling a metal sheet through a gutter forming machine, compared to sectional gutter systems that include sections that are mitered and sealed together. Seamless gutters are stronger than sectional gutters because they do not have these mitered sections, which have higher potential for leaking.
We offer both standard 5” seamless gutters, however 6” oversized gutters are become increasingly popular in areas such as the Midwest that is subject to heavy rainfall that can continuously overshoot a gutter system. Additionally, your home’s roof line and pitch are important factors in deciding whether a 5” standard gutter or 6” oversized gutter would fit best for your home. Your iRoof Exteriors representative will be able to help you decide what would work best for your home.
We typically recommend upgrading to oversized 6” gutters for the following:
-Gutters over 40 feet in length that cannot have 2 downspouts
-Long runs of 60 feet or more of gutters
-Lower gutters that have upper gutters draining into them
-Roof lines with high concentration into a small section of gutter
-Inside valleys with overflow during heavy rains
Gutter Protection with 25-Year Warranty
Here at iRoof Exteriors, we use Shur-Flo Gutter Protection that offers a 25-year warranty and is one of the only gutter guards on the market that requires NO MAINTENANCE. Shur-Flo Gutter Guards allow rainwater from your roof to drain through their patented perf-flow filtration system. Leaves, pine needles, twigs, and even the smallest debris are suspended on top of the panel. Air circulation from above and below allows the debris to dry up and blow away in the wind. (theshurflo.com) Shur-Flo Gutter Guards are installed snugly on the top of your gutters, are invisible from the ground, and do not void any roof warranties as they do not lift or penetrate any roof shingles.
Metal roofing has grown in popularity due to its exceptional protection against all elements and durability. A properly installed metal roof has an expected lifespan of 40 to 70 years, and often come with a 30 to 50 year manufacturer’s warranty. They can withstand many elements, including wind gusts of 140 mph. Metal roofs also have rust-proof coatings so they do not crack or corrode.
Another reason metal roofs are gaining popularity are because they are environmentally friendly compared to an asphalt shingle, which is a petroleum product. A shingled roof requires replacement approximately every 15 to 20 years, which sends nearly 20 billion pounds of old asphalt shingles to landfills every year according to the Environmental Protection Agency. Here at iRoof Exteriors, we recycle our shingles, which saves them from being sent to a landfill. Recycled shingles are most often ground up and added to the pavement for roads.
Metal roofs are energy efficient. Due to their reflective properties, metal roofs can save homeowners in monthly heating and cooling costs. Certain metal roofs come coated with special reflective pigments to minimize heat gain, savings homeowners from cranking up their air conditioner.
If you are interested in a metal roof, or would like more information to compare metal roofs to a traditional shingle roof, give iRoof Exteriors a call and one of our representatives would be happy to assist you in making your decision.
